The Union Institute The
Union Institute Cincinnati, OH (Ph.D.) There are 35
required residency days: a 10-day colloquium, three 5-day
seminars, and ten peer days. However, any of these may be
taken at numerous locations in the country (and, for that
matter, in other countries), so it's not as if you
actually have to schlep to Cincinnati to fulfill these
requirements.

Masters of Library and Information Science (MLIS) via DE.
The SLIS offers distance education in a number of ways. With some courses that
do not readily lend themselves to technology-based delivery, SLIS instructors
travel to remote sites across the state. But, the majority of the classes can be
offered via compressed video or web-based delivery, or a mix of both
technologies. Soon, most of our distance education courses will be offered over the Internet
using a software package called WebCT. The software is user friendly, flexible,
